My name is Tudor Hulubei. Welcome to my website.
In addition to providing some personal information,
this site is a repository of things that I've worked
on over time. Being passionate about computers
since longer than I can remember, I have developed a
few things that some people may find useful. They
include a Unix compatible kernel, a C interpretor, a
constraint satisfaction programming library and an
extensible file system browser, among other things.
Sometime in 1998 I picked up an interest in
photography that grew into one of my favorite
hobbies. The photography
section contains a few hundred photographs that
reflect my attempts at improving myself in this
area, as well as my struggle to get past the geeky
obsession with the technical aspects and concentrate
more on the artistic side of things. While I hope
that someday I'll be able to look at pictures taken
in the past and notice improvements that are not
simply due to better gear, that day remains elusive.
Every program or tool that you'll find here is free
software, covered by either the GNU
General Public License or the GNU
Library General Public License. The photographs
are covered by a different copyright, although in
the same spirit. Feel free to redistribute and
share. Of course, I would appreciate any negative
feedback.

10 years later... I just posted a complete installation of Thix in the form of an IDE disk image suitable for
Parallels, complete with a rescue floppy disc image. If you run Mac OS X and have Parallels, you can play with a full installation of Thix, just like I was back in 1996. In addition, I have created a VMware image with an old version of S.u.S.E Linux (circa 1996) for Thix development. All available
here. Enjoy!

The Unix-like kernel I developed in 1995 has been reviewed as a course project in the Department of Computer Science at University of Salzburg. The review is available
here. I'd love to read it, but unfortunately I can't read German.

Just uploaded my first set of
digital photographs. They're views of Boston taken with a Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T9 from my room on the 22nd floor of Tang Hall in Cambridge.
